The role of thermal diffusion, particle clusters, hydrodynamic and magnetic forces on the flow behaviour of magneto-polymer composites

In this paper, we study the shear-induced flow of magneto-polymer composites, consisting dispersions magnetic particles in solutions polymers, as a competition between colloidal forces amid and their bulk transport induced by hydrodynamic forces. For aim, analyse role different experimental parameters. Firstly, using only well-known anionic polymer (sodium alginate), provoke moderate hindering particle movement, but keeping liquid-like state samples. On contrary, gel-like behaviour is conferred to samples when cationic (chitosan) additionally added, which further reduces movement. We effect an applied field, opposed forces, inducing attraction particles. perform analysis under both stationary oscillatory shear. show that dimensionless numbers differences conditions are emphasized. all cases, expected, driven dominates at high values shear rate.
